There’s a lot of energy right now around getting off screens and reconnecting with the present moment.

I’m on board with that.
I’ve been genuinely leaning into sabbath lately and I can attest to its value.

But here’s the part that might sound contradictory.

You still need to be watching YouTube.

We’re living through an unprecedented period of human expansion.

Tools. Ideas. Workflows. Entire ways of working are changing faster than most people can track.

Opting out completely has a cost.

Just the other night, I was watching a few developer channels I follow and came across a new workflow for generating code. Nothing flashy. Just deeply practical.

I can already tell it’s going to compress what used to take me a week into a single focused session.

And if I hadn’t been paying attention..
if I’d decided that “less screen time” meant no screen time..
I would have missed it entirely.

During periods of rapid change, learning isn’t optional.


Not all inputs are equal.
Some steal your time.
Others give it back.

Rest matters.
Presence matters.

But so does staying awake to what’s emerging.. especially when a few minutes of attention can unlock days of progress.
