So stepping on the mat again this week after 4 years away from BJJ?
I figured I’d hold my own..
At least in the fundamentals class.

I remembered a few things.
Escaped some bad spots.
Felt sharp… for a second.

But I didn’t tap anybody.
And I got humbled.

Hard.

And honestly...
It was exactly what I needed.

Being a beginner again strips the ego.
It reminds you that growth doesn’t come from being known…
It comes from being willing to not know.

From putting yourself in the middle of it.
Feeling slow.
Feeling ineffective.

And still showing up.

You want to grow?
Step into something where your name doesn’t matter.
Where you’re not the expert.
Where nothing about your past wins can save you.

That’s where the next version of you gets built.

Start over.
On purpose.
