

I just got off a goal-setting seminar my wife delivered to her clients and my clients together.
It was powerful.
We talked about goals the way most people do at first.
Yes, you should aim higher than what you think you can achieve.
Stretch goals matter.
But the frame that really landed for me was this:
What are your non-negotiables?
Not the nice-to-haves.
Not the “if everything goes perfectly” goals.
The ones that, if everything else falls by the wayside,
you’re still going to freaking crush.
Because real life shows up.
Plans get messy.
Energy fluctuates.
And when that happens, you don’t rise to your aspirations.
You fall back to your non-negotiables.
This is the last fake week of the new year.
The limbo week.
Next week, everyone’s back to school.
Back to work.
Back to routine.
Don’t start next week as the same person who shut things down at the end of 2025.
Decide what matters most.
Define the few things that get done no matter what.
Those are the goals that actually change your year.
