Most people obsess over copy, and they should..

But speed is the silent killer almost nobody talks about.

Your funnel can have incredible messaging and still convert like trash if it loads in six seconds because you stuffed it with:

> Full-screen video backgrounds
> 4K images that render the size of a postage stamp
> Giant bloated sections
> Leftover scripts
> heavy animations

Speed matters... a lot more than people think.

Here’s how to fix it:

-- Reduce page elements
Every extra block slows you down.
If it doesn’t help the sale → delete it.
Minimal > “cool looking.”

-- Resize + compress your images
This is the #1 killer of funnel speed.
Keep images under 200 KB.
Use TinyPNG, Squoosh.app, ImageOptim, JPEGmini.
Aim for a total page weight under 2 MB.

-- Defer video loading
Don’t auto-load full players.
Show a thumbnail => load the video after the click.
If you’re embedding manually: loading="lazy" + defer.

- Remove unused scripts
Old tracking codes, old tests, forgotten pixels..
Delete them.
Every script adds delay.

-- Tone down heavy UI components
Parallax, sliders, floating sections, fancy transitions..
they look cool,
they kill load time.
Only use them if they increase conversions.

-- Hit these speed metrics:

TTFB: <200ms
FCP: <1.8s
LCP: <2.5s
Total Load: 2–3 seconds

If you’re slower than that… here’s what’s happening:

-- Google ads cost more.
Quality Score drops => CPC rises.
Google’s data: every 1 second slower = up to 20% lower conversions.

-- Meta ads cost more.
Slow page = “poor landing experience.”
Meta punishes that with higher CPMs.
Fast pages have seen up to 30% cheaper CPMs.

-- SEO tanks.
LCP is a ranking factor.
Slow page => dropped ranking => less organic traffic.

-- Conversion rates tank.
1 second delay → 7% drop
3 seconds → 32% more bounces
5 seconds → 90% bounce increase

-- Test everything
Use GTmetrix, FunnelPulse, PageSpeed Insights, WebPageTest.
THEN test it on your real phone.. not preview mode.
