The lock screen on my phone is a photo from Alex Hormozi that says:
“You’ll look like a genius if you just sit down and ask yourself ‘what happens next?’ 2–3 times in a row… then prepare for it.”
I’m a world-class firefighter.
Give me chaos, and I’ll find a way out.
I’ve been the guy who gets the call at 3am because an entire system is down and no one else can figure it out.
Drop a problem in front of me and I’ll:
👉 Come up with 3 possible solutions
👉 Prioritize the cheapest one with the biggest impact
👉 Start implementing right away
But pulling back and asking “what’s next… and what’s after that?”
That hasn’t always been my strongest muscle.
Thank God my wife/CEO/partner-in-everything is incredible at it. She loves making the map.
And here’s the thing..
When the decisions are made, the plan is laid, and I get to focus on execution?
Nothing feels better.
I actually know I’m working on the right thing, and it’s all moving toward a larger goal.
So yeah, planning is hard. But it’s worth it.
And if it’s not your skill? Borrow it.
👉 Buy the map from someone who’s already walked the path.
👉 Or hire someone who knows how to make one.
Either way, stop fighting fires forever. Start building toward something bigger.
