I had lunch with a friend today.

I was telling him about everything happening right now with Funnel Pulse.. early access, early feedback, early testimonials. The bugs we’re squashing. The features we’re racing to ship. How exciting it is. How terrifying it is. How real it suddenly feels.

Then he told me what was going on with him.

He and his wife just bought a local coffee roasting company here in Asheville. Took over operations. Stepped in for real.

And then reality hit.

The financials weren’t what they thought.
Margins were thinner.
They’re not really making money yet.

So now they’re raising prices.
Cutting SKUs.
Making hard calls.

Oh.. and they’ve got a baby on the way. A son, due in April.

And it just struck me.

Man.. most people don’t do this.

Most people will never put themselves out there like that.
They won’t take the risk.
They won’t freak out.
Freeze.
Cry.
Yell.
Pick themselves up.
Ask for help.
And ship anyway.

That’s rare.

What’s far more common is blaming.

The boss.
The economy.
The government.
The timing.
Someone else.

Always someone else’s fault.

But building something.. really building something.. forces ownership.. responsibility.

It's too heavy.. too uncomfortable for most people.
That’s why they avoid it.

But it’s also where meaning lives.

So if you’re reading this and you’re in it.. launching something, fixing something, rebuilding something, carrying weight most people never touch..

Be proud.

Of who you are.
Of what you’ve done.
Of where you’re going.

Most people don’t do this.

You do.
