There’s a man in our space I haven’t met yet named Kaela Kanae.

I came across this quote of his the other day and it hit hard:

“If there’s a gap between where you are and where you wanna be, that’s ambition.
If you think someone else created the gap, that’s victim.
If you think it’s someone else’s responsibility to fix the gap, that’s entitlement.”

I’ve heard versions of this before.. but this one landed differently.
Right place, right time.

For a long time, I’ve wanted more inner peace.
More clarity. More focus.
And for just as long, I’ve blamed the reasons I didn’t have it.

Childhood.
Family.
Circumstances.
You name it.

I had reasons.
Good ones, too.
But they didn’t change anything.

Because reasons don’t move mountains.
Ownership does.

If I want something to be different, it’s on me to make the change.
If it’s harder for me than it is for others.. good.
That means I’ll be stronger when I’m done.

The Stoics say the obstacle is the way.
And they’re right.

Whatever’s standing in your path isn’t the thing stopping you.
It is the path.
Face it.
Walk into it.
Kill the victim.

That’s where freedom lives.
