Most experts hear "assessment app" and think of a quiz.
Ten questions. A score. Maybe a fun label at the end.
That's fine. But it's not the best you can do. And it means you're missing your best tool.
I've been looking at the kinds of apps experts can build from what they already do with clients. One kind stands out. I call it the Diagnose app.
Its job is simple: help someone see where they are, what's wrong, and what to do next. Do that before the sales call, and the call goes very differently.
There are three ways to build one.
1. Reveal
This shows someone something they don't see yet.
A funnel checker finds broken steps.
An offer checker finds what's missing.
A leadership check shows a problem the whole team keeps running into.
The message is: "Here's what's really going on."
If someone already sees their own problem, you don't have to convince them on the call. You just have to give them a plan.
2. Measure
This shows how big the problem is. How much it costs. How much risk it carries.
A lost money calculator.
A "how ready are you" score.
A benchmark that compares them to others.
A tool that shows how close a business is to breaking down.
The message is: "Here's how big this problem really is."
Seeing the number can change everything. It also tells you who's worth calling. Someone who scores low is not the same lead as someone who scores high.
3. Route
This looks at what it found and tells the person what to do next.
A simple roadmap.
A "do this next" tool.
A path built just for them.
A tool that sorts people into the right kind of help.
The message is: "Here's where you start."
This is the one that does the selling for you. By the time someone sees their path, they already want it.
These three don't have to stay separate. A strong Diagnose app can do all three.
It reveals the problem. It measures how big it is. It shows what to do next.
That's a lead magnet that finds good leads while it collects them. Everyone who finishes it has already found their own problem, seen how big it is, and been shown a next step. Sometimes that next step is you.
And these tools aren't just for the top of your funnel.
Use one to get leads before the sale.
Use one during onboarding, to learn about a new client.
Use one inside a paid program, to know where to start.
Use one later, to find out what needs work next.
Reveal, Measure, and Route are only three of the Diagnose types out there. There are many more.
Comment DIAGNOSE and I'll send you the rest of the list.
