Most people use Claude to validate their plan.
"Is this a good idea?" .. Claude says yes. You feel good. You execute.
Then it blows up. And in hindsight the problem was obvious.
Here's what I did instead.
I told Claude: "It's 6 months from now. This plan already failed. Tell me exactly how it died."
That one shift changes everything.
There's nothing to be optimistic about. The premise already says it's dead. So Claude stops looking for reasons it'll work .. and starts explaining how it falls apart.
I ran it on a launch I was about to execute.
Seven failure modes. Real math. Conversion rates I hadn't run. A gap I was completely blind to.
It surfaced a serious blind spot I had..
A hidden assumption.
The one belief underneath everything. The thing so obvious to me that I forgot it was even an assumption.
Most people never get to this part in the original technique.
The version I put in the group forces it. Don't skip it.
That part alone would have saved me months.
It also gives you a revised plan. A checklist. And a 7-day action list.. not strategy, things you can actually do immediately..
Two things before you run it:
Use a fresh conversation. Not one where Claude already knows your plan and is quietly rooting for you. Start clean.
And brace for Step 3.
