but if churn is high and ARPA is flat,
you’re not scaling..
you’re just replacing what you lost.
Acquisition masks problems.
Churn reveals them.
And ignoring expansion is the fastest way to stunt your growth
even when everything “looks good” from the outside.
Shift your focus to the quiet metrics:
> Track churn religiously.
Why did they leave?
Where did they get stuck?
What part of your product or experience didn’t land?
> Then work on expansion.
How can you give your customers more ways to win?
What’s the next logical step that increases ARPA
without feeling salesy or forced?
Retention + expansion
is the focus many longlasting companies use.
Once you get those two right,
your business stops feeling fragile.
Cash flow stops feeling unpredictable.
Growth stops depending on constant hustle.
Your revenue compounds on its own
because the customers you already earned
stick…
grow…
and become increasingly more valuable.
Everyone talks about growth.
But the founders who actually scale
are the ones who fix loss
and elevate expansion.
